Descent/Approach and Landing

Near noise-sensitive areas, use the steepest glide slope consistent with passenger comfort and safety. Plan the approach and landing to keep noise-sensitive areas to the left of the helicopter. Avoid descending directly over noise-sensitive areas.

The MD500N is quieter on the right side than on the left. The MD500D/E is quieter on the right side than on the left, when equipped with either tail rotor.
